CSAM Dean Named to Passaic River Flood Commission

Robert Prezant, dean of Montclair State University’s College of Science and Mathematics was recently named to a seven-member state committee directed to recommend solutions to chronic flooding in the Passaic River basin. The committee members were announced on Tuesday, May 11 by Bob Martin, Commissioner of the New Jersey Environmental Protection Agency.

As a response to Governor Chris Christie's signing of an executive order last month to study the March flooding which resulted in extensive home, business, and property damage, the committee will work to find solutions to the flooding which has affected Morris, Bergen, and Passaic counties.

Named to the commission with Prezant are Assemblyman Scott Rumana(R-Passaic); John Miller of Lambertville, a professional engineer and certified floodplain manager; Pompton Lakes Mayor Kathleen Cole, Little Falls Mayor Mike Defrancisci, and State Police Superintendent Col. Rick Fuentes.
