To Our Campus Community-
This weekend, May 22nd and May 23rd, Facilities Maintenance & Engineering will be conducting their annual shutdown of electrical service to various academic and administrative buildings. Both College Hall and University Hall are scheduled to have power shutdowns from 7am-11am and 1pm-4pm respectively on Saturday, May 22nd.
Because the scheduled shut down requires that our data centers run on emergency power for an extended period of time, as a precautionary measure to ensure the integrity of mission-critical servers and data, Information Technology Division personnel will bring down most campus computing services for the duration of the shut down. We will take advantage of the scheduled down time to accomplish several maintenance tasks and equipment upgrades, including the addition of a second Storage Area Network Device, that would otherwise require an additional shut down later in the summer.
The following computing resources will be unavailable from approximately 9:00am to 2pm on Saturday, May 22nd:
- Campus email, including Webmail and list services.
(Note: Inbound mail will continue be accepted)
- FRS, HRS, SIS, and Web For Students/Employees/Faculty.
- Blackboard 7.3 and 9.1, and Moodle.
- Netdrive file services.
We apologize for any inconvenience the above system outages may cause, and appreciate your understanding and cooperation during this maintenance window.
