Brown registered the second-fastest time in Division III this outdoor season as he won the event. Brown went 14.51 in the preliminaries before busting across the line in a time of 14.36 seconds. The junior, who finished second in last year’s NCAA Championship in the event, went from the provisional list to a spot in this year’s field. Brown’s time is second behind Edgar Townsend of Greenville College. Townsend edged out Brown for the Division III indoor 55 meter title in March.
Brown will join Townsend in the field of competitors at the NCAA Division III Championship which will be held on May 27-29 in Cleveland, OH.
Senior Adenford Jean-Philippe (Irvington, NJ / Irvington) posted a time of 14.76 as he tried to move up on the provisional list. Jean-Philippe is in the Top 20 however it remains to be seen if he makes the field for the NCAA Championships.
Senior Eugene Asimou (Livingston, NJ / Livingston) is in the same predicament in the shot put. Asimou threw finished second in the evetn at 16.48 meters. He is currently 17th on the list of competitors.
Mario Morrison-Bird (West Orange, NJ / West Orange) recorded a time of 42.44 meters in the discus as he finished sixth in the event.
