Welcome from Jack Shannon, VP, University Advancement

On behalf of the entire Montclair State community, greetings and welcome to the inaugural e-edition of “Neighbors Update.”

This e-newsletter is designed to keep you informed about what’s happening on the Montclair State campus, along with the many great initiatives and programs that the University has established in partnership with our host communities of Montclair, Little Falls, Clifton and, now, Bloomfield, the new home of the University’s Center for Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology.

I’m a relative newcomer to Montclair State University, having started in my position as Vice President for University Advancement only in early June.  I have quickly recognized, though, the great value and many benefits that the University is providing to our students (a significant number of whom are residents of Clifton, Little Falls, Montclair and Bloomfield) as well as our region.  Since coming to the University, I also have enjoyed exploring the surrounding area and becoming acquainted with the many fine people, places, businesses and organizations that make up the wonderfully special communities that the University is proud to call home.

I hope that you enjoy this first edition of “Neighbors Update” and, if you should have any ideas, suggestions or questions after reading it, I’d ask that you please share them with us by calling the Office of University and Community Relations at 973-655-7303 or by e-mailing that same office at community@mail.montclair.edu.
