Students participate in National Day of Service

More than 150 students participated in the University's National Day of Service on Sept. 11 by going into the community and to local charitable organizations to lend a helping hand. The event is a collaboration between the University's Service-Learning & Community Engagement program and the Center for Student Involvement. The students helped at the following sites:
Montclair Salvation Army's Cornerstone House
A Lot to Grow community garden in Montclair
Township of Little Falls
Daughters of Miriam, Clifton
Edgemont Park and Montclair Heights cleanups in Montclair
Clove Road NJ Transit overpass (MSU/Little Falls)
Montclair State Children's Center
Food collection for Human Needs Food Pantry (serving Montclair and surrounding communities)
Bethel Rehobeth Food Pantry, Bloomfield
Franklin Elementary School, Bloomfield
St. Peter's Haven food pantry, Clifton
Clifton parks and recreation, Washington Park cleanup
CUMAC food pantry, Paterson
United Way of North Essex  .
