Volleyball Drops NJAC Contest with Ramapo

Mahwah, NJ (9/30/10) – The Montclair State volleyball team fell to 1-3 in the New Jersey Athletic Conference as the Red Hawks dropped a three-set decision to Ramapo College at the Bradley Center on Thursday evening. MSU (2-17) fell to the Roadrunners, 25-16, 25-13 and 25-14.

Freshman Marta Topor (Bogota, NJ / Bogota) had six kills and five digs for MSU while Kristen Bronowich (Secaucus, NJ / Secaucus) had four kills. Sophomore Alyssa Batiste (Manahawkin, NJ / Southern Regional) chipped in with six assists and 12 digs while Sara Girgus (Green Brook, NJ / Watchung Hills) had two service aces and four block assists. 

Freshman setter Bella Milstein (Edison, NJ / JP Stevens) led the team with seven assists with libero Kaitlyn Irwin(Cranford, NJ / Cranford) posting 18 digs.

Montclair goes right back to work on Friday, October 1 as the Red Hawks take part in the Ducks Invitational at Stevens. MSU will face NYU-Polytechnic and Williams af 4:00 pm and 8:00 pm, respectively. It will be the second time in six days that MSU will face Polytechnic as the Fighting Blue Jays downed the Red Hawks at the Panzer Athletic Center last Saturday.
