Kirschenbaum Selected NJAC Football Defensive Player of the Week

Montclair, NJ (10/10/10) – Senior linebacker Ed Kirschenbaum (Lake Como, NJ / Manasquan) was named the New Jersey Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week on Sunday.

Kirschenbaum earns NJAC Defensive Player of the Week honors after sparking the Red Hawks to a come-from-behind 30-14 NJAC win over TCNJ. He collected 15 tackles, including 4.5 tackles for a loss and 3.5 sacks. Trailing 14-10 at the half, he recorded tackles on the first three TCNJ plays, leading to a punt that set up the eventual game-winning score.

Kirschenbaum, who was part of a MSU defensive unit that held the Lions to zero yards of offense in the second half, currently ranks tied for third in the NJAC in tackles for a loss (6.5).
