Hagel Named NJAC Field Hockey Offensive Player of the Week

Montclair, NJ (10/11/10) – Senior forward Deana Hagel (Fairfield, NJ / West Essex) was named the New Jersey Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week on Monday. Hagel becomes the fourth different Red Hawks win one of the league's weekly accolades.

Hagel played a major role in helping the Red Hawks to a victories at Ramapo and home to New Paltz last week. She had a hand in five of MSU’s seven goals in the two games, scoring three times and assisting on two others. Hagel had a goal and assist as Montclair topped Ramapo, 4-2 for its first NJAC win of the season. She then accounted for all three goals as Montclair State defeated New Paltz, 3-1.

Hagel, who was named the NJAC Offensive Player of the Week, also moved into fourth on the all-time goals list (34) and eighth for career points (80). Hagel currently ranks third in the NJAC in points (8) and assists (7) and is fourth in goals (23).
