Please join the Center for Non
Violence and Peace Initiatives for the annual launch ceremony for the 2011
“Real Men of MSU” campaign on Thursday, December 16, 2010 at the University
Courtyard Lounge at 4 p.m. The popular “Real Men of MSU” calendar will also be
unveiled at the ceremony.
The “Real Men of MSU” campaign has been designed to celebrate, recognize, and
honor men from our Montclair State community who have been selected as
individuals who have made a positive impact on women, women’s rights, taking a
stand for ending violence against women, and raising social consciousness about
the many issues regarding violence in our communities.
Montclair State’s “Real Men” are a group of incredible men who were nominated
by the Montclair State community and include athletes, professors, student organization
leaders, administrators, and law enforcement officers. In addition, we are also
honoring Montclair State University female student athletes for the month of
March. These women showcase campus leadership and have excelled in the areas of
community involvement, and the commitment to being strong, independent young
women.
We are extremely excited that we have been able to continue with this campaign—which was first introduced in 2005—as it serves as a model for other men, and the community at large regarding taking a stand against violence towards women.
This year we are excited to announce co-sponsorship from Health Promotion and Residential Education and Services. We hope that you can join us to honor our “Real Men” and to celebrate the release of the 2011 “Real Men of MSU” calendar.
