Ayanbeku Named NJAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week for Second Time

Montclair, NJ (2/14/11) – Senior forward Kisandra Ayanbeku (Brockton, MA / Randolph) claimed her second honor from the New Jersey Athletic Conference this season as she was named the Player of the Week.

Ayanbeku earns NJAC Player of the Week honors after averaging a double-double 18.0 points and 14.0 rebounds per game in 1-1 week of play for the Red Hawks. She opened the week with 16 points on 6-of-10 shooting from the field, while adding eight rebounds, two blocks, and one steal in a 50-47 non-conference victory over Stevens. Four days later, she notched her first career 20-20 game with 20 points and a career-high 20 rebounds in a 65-50 NJAC overtime road defeat at Rutgers-Newark. The 20 boards collected in the game against the Scarlet Raiders marked the second highest single-game rebounding total by a player in the conference this season.

Ayanbeku currently ranks second in the NJAC in free throw percentage (.800).
