Columbus, OH (3/11/11) – Senior Will Brown (Gloucester, NJ / Palmyra) set
a new track record and posted the fastest time in Division III this
season as he easily advanced into the finals of the 55 meter hurdles as
the NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships on Friday
evening at Capital University.
Brown blazed to a time of 7.44 seconds as he will seek his second NCAA
title in the event when the finals are contested on Saturday, March 12
at 5:20 pm.
Brown, the 2009 champion and 2010 runner-up in the event, had not
competed since the CTC Indoor Championships on February 17 due to
injury. The time off appeared to do Brown some good as he broke the
Capital Center record of 7.66 set by Ohio Northern’s Joe Moor.
Brown qualified for the NCAA Championships with the fifth-ranked time
of 7.56 seconds posted at the Great Dane Classic in January.
