Farmingdale, NY (4/6/11) – Montclair State (4-6, 1-1 Skyline) scored the nine five goals and cruised to a 16-2 victory over Richard Stockton (1-9, 0-2). The Red Hawks earned their first road win of the season while the Stockton loss extended the Ospreys winless streak to six contests.
Tyler Meth (Basking Ridge/Ridge) scored four times and added two assists, while teammate Robert Sinacola (North Caldwell/West Essex) hit the net three times and dished four helpers on the afternoon. Matthew Prongay(Edison/Edison) and Jack Skeels (Roseland/West Essex) each tallied twice for the Red Hawks.
Montclair State scored the first nine goals, including four by Meth and three by Sinicola, before Brian Santoleri (Berwyn, PA/Archbishop Carroll) snapped the scoreless streak for the Ospreys in the third quarter. Chris Ordway (Long Valley/West Morris Central) had the assist.
After five more tallies by MSU made the score 14-1, Stockton freshman Christopher Miller (Turnersville/Paul VI) scored his first career goal with an assist from Drew Wright (Wallingford, PA/Strath Haven) before the Red Hawks scored the last two goals to close out the game.
Montclair goalie Mark Glander (Vernon/Vernon Twp.) picked up the victory, kicking out six shots in 49 minutes played. Stockton’s Tim Wolcott (Toms River/Toms River North) made six saves and Andrew Martinelli (West Orange/West Orange) contributed four saves.
MSU returns to action on Wednesday, April 13 as they conclude their three-game road trip with a 7:00 pm Skyline Conference contest at New York Maritime.
