Petersburg, VA (4/9/11) – Sophomore Heather Gearity (Rutherford, NJ / Rutherford) posted an NCAA Provisional qualifying mark in the 400 meter hurdles to highlight the Red Hawk outdoor track and field team's performances at the Virginia State Invitational on Saturday.

Gearity finished second in the event as she ran a time of 1:03.70, a half-second better than the provisional mark for the NCAA Division III Championships, which will be held May 26-28 in Delaware, OH at Ohio Northern University. The time was also a personal best for Gearity.

Ashley Powell (Orange, NJ / Marylawn of the Oranges) finished third in the 100 meters with a personal best time of 12.76 seconds. Nicole Presti (Saddle Brook, NJ / Saddle Brook) also registered a pair of personal bests in the 1500 and 3000 meters. Presit placed second in the 3000 meters with a time of 12:00.53 and was third in the 1500 coming in at 5:23.10.
