Sushant Singh is a PhD student of Environmental Management in the department of Earth and Environmental Studies. He is working with Dr. Dibyendu Sarkar to develop a sustainable socio-economic model of Arsenic mitigation. He is the author of the book “Arsenic Contamination in water, soil, and food materials in Bihar; Arsenic contamination in food -chain- Transfer of Arsenic into food materials through ground water irrigation in Maner block of Patna District Bihar”.
The book is about the arsenic contamination in water, soil, and food materials in the eastern Indian state Bihar; the second worst arsenic affected state of India after West Bengal. Few books are available on this specific arsenic problem and this is the first to talk about the arsenic problems in Bihar state, India. Specifically, the book focuses on the arsenic contamination in water, soil, and food materials in one of the worst affected cities, Maner, in the Patna district of Bihar, India.
