Amato earns NJAC Rookie of the Week honors after hitting .450 (9-for-20) with a double, four home runs, 11 RBI, and seven runs scored in a 5-1 week of play for Montclair. She hit safely in 5-of-6 games, and opened the week by going a combined 5-for-8 with two home runs, four RBI, and two runs scored in a 6-1 and 10-2 non-conference sweep of Baruch. One day later, she went a combined 3-for-5 with a double, a home run, five RBI, and three runs scored in an 8-0 and 8-1 NJAC sweep of Rutgers-Newark. She wrapped up the week by hitting her fourth home run in a four-day span, going 1-for-4 with two RBI and run scored in 10-7 game two NJAC road defeat at Rowan. Amato currently leads the NJAC in batting average (.470), slugging percentage (.955), on-base percentage (.560), RBI (34),home runs (8), and total bases (63).
Hill earns NJAC Rookie Pitcher of the Week honors after going 3-0 with a 1.20 earned run average in four appearances for the Red Hawks. She opened the week by surrendering just three hits and one earned run while striking out nine in a 6-1 non-conference win over Baruch. One day later, she allowed just two hits and one walk while striking out eight in an 8-0 NJAC shutout of Rutgers-Newark. Two days later, she helped MSU extend its NJAC lead by surrendering just four hits, one run, and no walks while striking out 10 in a key 4-1 NJAC road win at rival Rowan. Hill, who also logged 4.1 innings of relief in MSU’S second game against Rowan, currently leads the NJAC in strikeouts (113).
