Throwers Highlight Men's Outdoor Track Appearance at Roadrunner Express

Mahwah, NJ (4/22/11) – Senior Mario Morrison-Bird (West Orange, NJ / West Orange) continued his strong outdoor season finishing second in the discus and fourth in the hammer throw as the Montclair State men’s outdoor track and field team competed at the Roadrunner Express at Ramapo College on Friday.

Morrison-Bird, who set a new school record in the hammer throw last week, registered a best distance of 49.11 meters in placing fourth. He then threw 44.41 meters in the discus.

Jon Tancer (Montville, NJ / Montville) led four Red Hawks in the Top 10 of the shot put as he placed sixth overall. Tancer recorded a throw of 13.79 meters. Dave Helterbran (Sewell, NJ / Washington Township) was eighth (13.42 meters) followed by James Luginsland (Bridgewater, NJ / Brdigewater-Raritan) and Nick DiGiacomo (Parsippany, NJ / Parsippany Hills) in ninth and 10th respectively.

Sophomore Niyi Adenugba (North Brunswick, NJ / North Brunswick) was fourth in the long jump at 6.46 meters and placed seventh in the 110 hurdles (16.59 seconds). John Frank Migliore (Bloomfield, NJ / Bloomfield) and Christopher Lopez (Ridgefield Park, NJ / Ridgefield Park) were eighth and 10th, respectively in the 100 meters and the two combined with Joshua Reyes (Bayonne, NJ / Bayonne) and James Hamilton (Somerset, NJ / Franklin) to finish second in the 4x100 relay. Reyes also placed 12th in the 400 hurdles.
