Montclair, NJ (5/2/11) –Junior attack Tyler Meth (Basking Ridge, NJ / Ridge) was named the Skyline Conference Player of the Week on Monday. It is the first Skyline Player of the Week honor for Montclair State this season and just the second overall. Freshman Trevor Teel (Oakland, NJ / Don Bosco Prep) was selected Rookie of the Week back on February 28.
Meth was named the Most Valuable Player of the Skyline Conference Tournament for the second time in three years as he scores three times in the Red Hawks' championship game victory over top-seeded Farmingdale State. The win gave Montclair State its third consecutive Skyline crown and sent MSU into the NCAA Tournament for the third straight year.
Meth rallied the Red Hawks back from a 2-0 deficit in the first period as he scores twice. He would later record the hat trick with the only goal of the third period as Montclair State led 7-5 heading into the final quarter.
Meth currently leads the team with 26 goals this season and is second overall in points with 37. He is ranked seventh in the Skyline Conference in goals per game (1.62).
