Montclair State University softball coach Anita Kubicka will appear on talk-radio Friday, July 22 on WDVR-FM. Kubicka will join sport psychologist and MSU adjunct professor Dr. Michael Zito between 5-6 p.m. on the topic of "The Pros and Cons of Competitive Youth Sports."
WDVR is located on the FM dial at 89.7 from Greenbrook, NJ to Pennsylvania and in the Princeton/Trenton area on 91.9 FM. You can also listen to the show on the Web at www.WDVRFM.
Kubicka just completed her 15th season with the Red Hawks and has put together one of the finest coaching resumes in MSU history–473 victories, a .724 winning percentage–both which rank in the Top 15 among active coaches in Division III. Ten times her teams have won 30-plus games, including the last six of the last seven campaigns, and she has led the Red Hawks to eight NCAA Tournaments. In those eight appearances are two trips to the national championship tournament where in 1997, MSU finished as the runner-up.
Montclair State has also won six ECAC championships under Kubicka’s watch and she has earned several NJAC and Regional Coach of the Year honors. Among the list of 49 players to be named All-American at MSU, Kubicka had coached 31 of them–2314 First-Team selections, including 1992 NCAA Division III Player of the Year Lois Fyfe.
