DelVento Earns NJAC Football Special Teams Player of the Week Honor

Montclair, NJ (9/25/11) – For the third straight week, Montclair State claimed one of the New Jersey Athletic Conference's weekly awards as kicker Jake DelVento (Island Heights, NJ / Toms River South) was selected as the Special Teams Player of the Week.

DelVento becomes the second different Red Hawk to earn NJAC Special Teams Player of the Week honors after helping the No. 10 Red Hawks remain unbeaten with a 53-24 NJAC victory over Buffalo State. He finished the day by scoring 11 points, including five extra points and a pair of field goals. He was successful on field goal attempts of 39 and 42 yards, giving him a league-best six field goals made on the season.

DelVento currently leads the NJAC in scoring with an average of 8.3 points per game.
