Montclair, NJ (9/26/11) – Junior goalkeeper Anthony Rogic (Boonton, NJ / Morris Catholic) and freshman midfielder Maxx Wurzburger (Glen Rock, NJ / Glen Rock) each collected honors from the New Jersey Athletic Conference on Monday as they were named the Defensive and Rookie of the Week, respectively.
Rogic became the second straight Red Hawk to be named NJAC Defensive Player of the Week after making made six saves and posting a shutout in Montclair State's 2-0 week. He made three saves in posting his fourth shutout of the year in a 3-0 win over 12th-ranked William Paterson and added three saves, including one inside the final three minutes to preserve MSU's 2-1 win at TCNJ. Rogic is currently ranked third in the NJAC in goals against average (0.71).
Wurzburger scored what turned out to be the game-winning goal in Montclair's 3-0 win over No. 12 William Paterson. He scored on a bicycle kick in the the 64th minute to give Montclair State a 1-0 lead. It was his third goal of the season.
