Montclair, NJ (9/26/11) –Senior Chelsea Keelen (Tinton Falls, NJ / Middletown South)
received her second New Jersey Athletic Conference Defensive Player of
the Week honor on Monday.Keelen helped Montclair State to a pair of road
wins as the No. 16 Red Hawks improved to 9-0, the best start in program
history.
Against New Paltz in a 5-0 win she made a defensive save late in
the contest to preserve Montclair's 5-0 shutout win. She then collected
her first goal of the season, the only goal MSU would need in a 5-0 win
at FDU-Florham. In the two wins, Montclair held its opponents to just 15
shots, including eight on goal and none in the victory over
FDU-Florham.
