Montclair, NJ (10/2/11) – Senior quarterback Tom Fischer (Livingston, NJ / Livingston) was named the New Jersey Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week on Sunday. It is the fourth straight week that MSU has claimed one of the league's weekly accolades and it is the sixth honor for Fischer in his career. He was a three-time Offensive Rookie of the Week choice in 2008 and won Offensive Player of the Week once in each of the last three years.
Fischer earns NJAC Offensive Player of the Week honors after leading
No. 9 Montclair State to a 20-13 NJAC road win at Brockport. He
completed 23-of-38 passes for 255 yards, including a pair of touchdown
strikes of 49 and 8 yards apiece. With the performance, he moved into
second place on MSU’s all-time completion list (494) while eclipsing the
6,500-yard career passing plateau (6,520).
The 2010 NJAC Co-Offensive Player of the Year, Fischer currently ranks fourth in the NJAC in passing yards per game (193.5).
