Montclair, NJ (10/25/11) - The Montclair State field hockey, football and men's soccer teams all enter this week's games as nationally-ranked squads.
The Red Hawks field hockey team, currently 16-1, moved up two spots to No. 6 in the Kookaburra/NFHCA Division III Coaches Poll. Last week, MSU fell was eighth falling one spot from the previous week after suffering its first loss of the year to The College of New Jersey on October 15. Men's Soccer also climbed a spot to No. 22 in the latest D3Soccer.com Men's Top 25. Montclair (13-2-3), is also fifth in the National Soccer Coaches Association (NSCAA) South-Atlantic Regional rankings and most importantly fifth in the first NCAA Division III Regional rankings.
Montclair State's first football loss last week dropped the Red Hawks in both the D3Football.com and American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) polls. MSU fell to No. 17 in the D3 Top 25, down from No. 9 while the AFCA poll moved the Red Hawks from No. 7 to No. 21.
