August Selected NJAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week

Montclair, NJ (11/21/11) – Senior forward Andrew August (Bridgewater, NJ / Bridgewater- Raritan) was named the New Jersey Atheltic Conference Player of the Week on Monday.

August helped Montclair State to a 1-1 start as the Red Hawks finished as the runner-up in the Courtyard by Marriott Tip-Off Tournament at Farmingdale State over the weekend.

The 2011 First-Team All-NJAC selection averaged 25.5 points and 13.0 rebounds while shooting 58.8 percent from the floor along with six assists in the two contests. August opened the season with his second 30-point plus contest of his career, netting 31 points along with 15 rebounds as MSU downed College at Brockport 97-92 in the opening round of the tournament. He then scored 20 points along with 11 rebounds and six assists as Montclair State fell to John Jay College in the championship game. August was named to the All-Tournament Team.

August currently leads the NJAC in both scoring and rebounding and is ranked eighth in the conference in field goal percentage.
