Flores Selected NJAC Men's Basketball Rookie of the Week

Montclair, NJ (12/26/11) – Freshman guard Brian Flores (Union, NJ / Union Catholic) was named the New Jersey Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week on Monday.

Flores earns NJAC Rookie of the Week honors after averaging 10.5 points, 3.5 assists, and 2.0 steals per game in a pair of non-conference wins for the Red Hawks. He opened the week with 11 points, three assists, and two steals in a 79-40 victory over Vaughn. Two nights later, he produced 10 points, four assists, three rebounds, and two steals in MSU’s ninth victory of the season - a 104-64 win over Immaculata.

Flores, who shot .583 (7-of-12) from the field in the two games combined, currently ranks second in the NJAC in three-point field goal percentage (.463).
