St. Croix, USVI (1/11/12) - The Montclair State men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams took time out from their training trip in St. Croix to compete in the Dolphins Swim Team Sea Swim on January 8. All swimmers and coaches participated in event which took place at Rainbow Beach in Frederiksted, St. Croix.

MSU placed three in the Men’s 18-25 category as sophomore Joseph Berry (Edison, NJ / Edison) was the top finisher in the group with a time of 23.47 which was 10th overall. Nathaniel Ramos won the men’s event with a time of 21:52. Zak Westerberg (Hamilton, NJ / Hamilton North) was second in the 18-25 grouping with Michael Volski (Edison, NJ / Edison) finishing third.

Senior Allie Golden (Denville, NJ / Morris Knolls) was seventh overall on the women’s side with a time of 27.22.

The Red Hawks continue their training trip in the U.S. Virgin Islands until January 13 before returning home. Montclair returns to dual meet action on January 18 as the men host Vassar at 6:00 pm. The full squad is back together on Saturday, January 21 taking on Rowan University (1:00 pm) in Glassboro.
