Tancer, DiGiacomo Leads Red Hawks at Great Dane Classic

New York, NY (1/20/12) – The Montclair State men’s indoor track and field team returned to competition on Friday as the Red Hawks took part in the Great Dane Classic hosted by the University at Albany at The Armory.

Senior Jon Tancer (Montville, NJ / Montville) finished 21st overall in the shot put as he registered a best throw of 13.81 meters. Sophomore Nick DiGiacomo (Morris Plains, NJ / Parsippany Hills) placed five spots behind in 26th with a best throw of 12.44 meters.

On the track, freshman Jonathan Feigin (Sewell, NJ / Washington Township) posted a time of 52.19 in the 400 meters, coming in just ahead of teammate Ian Poinsett (Salem, NJ / Salem). Freshman Nicholas Kral (Randolph, NJ / Randolph) recorded a time of 2:01.93 in the 800 meters.

The Red Hawks are off until Friday, February 3 when they travel to East Stroudsburg, PA for the DeSchriver Invitational.
