Undergraduate students from the Student Government Association and the Communication Studies Department invite the campus community to join them on Wednesday, March 29, in the Student Center Quad, for an afternoon of food, live entertainment and campus-wide unity in support of renovations to the Student Center and agricultural development of the Quad. The event will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. The rain date is Tuesday April 11.
During the event, students will circulate a pledge supporting the administration’s commitment to improving the Student Center and expanding its facilities. “We want to create a sense of campus awareness about the proposed construction to the Student Center,” said Amy Chicken, vice president of the Student Government Association, Inc. (SGA). “Our goal is to collect more than 1,000 student signatures of support, because student awareness of critical campus issues is extremely relevant to our expanding campus.”
Participants also will receive information explaining the dates of construction and the facilities that will be improved.
The students orchestrating the event are Chicken, Shaun Pilkington, Mike Dabrowski, Melanie Koundrourou, Julian Denis, Jason Fink and Guerlens Desir.
The SGA, Voices, 90.3 WMSC, ASSIST, Players, Sigma Sigma Sigma, Red Hawk Paintball, Organization of Students for Creative Expression, Greek Council and Unified Asian-American Student Organization will participate in the event.
