Brian Lehrer is the host of WNYC Radio’s award-winning daily call-in program, The Brian Lehrer Show, which has been recognized as New York City’s most thoughtful and informative talk show. The program has also been called “cutting edge” for its advanced interactivity and creative use of the Internet.

Lehrer received a bachelor’s degree in music and mass communications from the State University of New York at Albany, and master’s degrees in public health from Columbia University and journalism from The Ohio State University.

In addition to radio, Lehrer is also a commentator on local and national issues on television and in print, having appeared on TV networks including CNN, MSNBC, Fox News Channel, C-SPAN, ABC, and NY1, and having written op-ed pieces for publications including The New York Times, the Daily News, Newsday, the New York Sun, and Slate.com.

The Brian Lehrer Show won a 2007 George Foster Peabody Award for “Radio That Builds Community Rather Than Divides,” and has won numerous other awards including four Associated Press New York Broadcasters “Best Interview” Awards since 2000, and “Best Talk Show” by the Garden State Journalists Association in 2009 and 2011.
