Dennis M. Bone is president of Verizon New Jersey and
responsible for all of Verizon’s corporate interests in New Jersey.
Bone received a Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics from
the West Virginia University Institute of Technology, a Master of Business
Administration degree in finance and economics from Rutgers University, and a
Master of Science degree in counseling from The Johns Hopkins University.
A 33-year veteran of Verizon, Bone began his career as an
outside plant engineer for New Jersey Bell. He worked in operations,
competitive assessment, regulatory matters, and external affairs at New Jersey
Bell before being named president and chief executive officer of Bell
Atlantic—West Virginia in 1995. In 2000, he was named president of Verizon New
Jersey.
An executive with extensive service commitments, Bone serves as chairman of the New Jersey State Employment and Training Commission, and chairman of Choose New Jersey. He is a member of the Boards of Trustees of the New Jersey Institute of Technology, the Newark Alliance, the Liberty Science Center, the New Jersey Center for Teaching and Learning, and the Aviation Research and Technology Park. He also serves on the Boards of Directors of the New Jersey Performing Arts Center and the New Jersey Utilities Association.
