5/2: Senator Robert Menendez to Join Students at Montclair State to Discuss the Cost of Student Loans and Impact on their Future

Interest on federal loans set to double for millions of students without Congressional action

With the 3.4 percent interest rate on federal student loans set to double unless Congress acts to amend the law before July 1, many students and families are having to make difficult choices when considering college costs.  U.S. Senator Robert Menendez will join Montclair State University students with subsidized Stafford loans; James Anderson, director of Financial Aid; and Seddik Meziani, chair of the Department of Economics and Finance for a roundtable discussion on the cost of student loans and how surging student loan debt impacts higher education, young people, and the economy.

Join us on Wednesday, May 2, 2012 from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. in University Hall, room 1070 (parking is free in the Red Hawk Deck).  Or view live online at www.montclair.edu/webcast.
