US Representative Steven R. Rothman and US Representative William J. Pascrell Jr. will square off in an hour-long debate co-sponsored by North Jersey Media group publications, The Record and Herald News, on May 14 at 8:00 p.m. at Montclair State University.
The two representatives are locked in a heated 9th District Democratic primary battle, the result of redistricting in New Jersey where one of 13 seats in the House of Representatives is being eliminated. Primary elections will be held on June 5 in New Jersey.
NJTV, New Jersey’s public television network, will televise the live debate beginning at 8:00 p.m. on Cablevision Channel 8/Comcast Channel 23. For other local listings, see www.njtvonline.org/about/where-to-watch.
The moderator of the debate is Mike Schneider, managing editor and anchor of NJTV’s news program NJ Today. Panelists include Brigid Callahan Harrison, professor of Political Science and Law at Montclair State; Alfred P. Doblin, editorial page editor of The Record and Herald News; Charles Stile, columnist for The Record; and Michael Aron, chief political correspondent for NJTV.
The debate will be held at the John J. Cali School of Music’s Leshowitz Recital Hall, located in Chapin Hall on the University campus.
