The
Webmaster welcomes suggested submissions to the MSU Web site "News"
sections. "News" appears on the main MSU page (www.montclair.edu).
Webmaster discretion
It is the purpose
of the News section of the MSU Web site to promote a timely communications
tool for the MSU community at large, and to highlight the unique qualities
of MSU to our Web clients. Some examples of the types of information
for Headlines:
- New academic or administrative
programs;
- Special events or activities;
- Awards or recognition
of MSU programs or community members;
- Timely information:
weather closing; deadline dates.
Final editorial
discretion is the responsibility of the Webmaster.
To submit a suggested
News item you must:
- be a member of the
MSU community (faculty/staff/student);
- provide your email
address or phone number for submission confirmation;
- submit your suggested
News item via email to the MSU Webmaster, Cindy Meneghin, at meneghinc@mail.montclair.edu. Please note in your Email Subject: "MSU News Item."
Guidelines for "News"
Submissions
- Provide a 'headline'
(which will appear as a link to the headline's text) that is no
more than 40 characters long. Example: "MSU debuts its new main
Web site."
- Provide text for the
News items that is concise and clear. Whenever possible, "News"
text should be no longer than 200 words.
- Whenever possible include
email and URL links to further information and contact points
in your text. Example: "email us at xxxx@montclair.edu" or "see
our Web site at www.montclair.edu/xxxx.html."
"News" Placement
Include in your
Headline submission:
- When you suggest the
News item should appear and disappear. (The "News" program
automatically archives the Headline on a specified date to avoid
old news lingering.)
Note: The Webmaster reserves
the right to edit or remove copy from any submitted News items.
