Welcome from New Student Experience!

The Office of New Student Experience is committed to the academic and personal success of all first-year students.  The office offers a comprehensive and intentional experience that supports student learning and involvement.

New Student Experience provides services for all freshmen students. We are here to assist you in making a smooth transition to Montclair State University.  We know the transition process can be exciting, new, and complex.  Our specialty is helping freshmen students succeed in their first year.

Our staff is available to guide you during the first year of your college experience.  Your new first year connections are of paramount importance to us, which is why we provide New Student Orientation, Learning Communities, New Student Seminar courses and First Year Counselors to assist with the transition to college.  Throughout the year we will meet with you and provide services based on your needs, provide appropriate referrals to various University departments, and assist you with your academic journey.
