Our Mission

The mission of New Student Experience is to assist first-year students in their transition to the Montclair State University community by offering comprehensive and intentional services that support their learning and involvement.

Goals:

• Collaborate with campus partners to welcome and orient first-year students to the first year of college
• Advise first-year students on ways to explore options and achieve their academic goals
• Educate first-year students on University policies, procedures, and resources
• Promote self-reliance and independence among first-year students
• Inform the campus community of first-year student needs
• Provide first-year students with opportunities for engagement in the University community
