Mission Statement This webpage will serve as a means for the proper dissemination of information for those who are interested in keeping up with the events of this Organization. Additionally, we hope to provide a decent basis for finding information regarding the culture and political nuances afflicting the Arab world.
Get Involved There are numerous ways a student can get involved in the Arabic Student Organization (ASO): 1. Become a member of the ASO: As a student member you you will receive weekly updates of upcoming events. You will also be able to participate in the making of these events. Also, you will be notified of different activities on-campus and off-campus. The members of the organization usually go out on social outings, and you will be receiving invitations for such outings. Best of all, membership is FREE! 2. Attend our weekly meetings: By attending our weekly meetings, you will be introduced to different
people from all over the world. The ASO is not based on a single
country. On the contrary we span across the entire Middle East.
You will get the opportunity to learn about many cultures from
the Middle East and beyond as our membership includes non-Arabs.
You will make valuable personal contacts and you will gain a better
understanding of all the different cultures. Our meetings for the
Spring '04 semester are at 2:30PM on Thursdays in Room 125 of the
Student Center Annex. 3. Become an Officer: Looking for a great experience? Become an ASO officer. Officer positions offer experience, leadership, success and communication skills. As an officer you will be responsible for one specific aspect of the Organization. Organizing events, contacting people, handling the budget, advertising events and comunicating with people are some of the resposibilities that you can take on. For those who are looking for a professional career in the future or just a higher degree, an officer position on your resume is definitely an edge. To get involved, contact us at aso_msu@hotmail.com or speak to an officer
at our next meeting.
