The NEWMAN CATHOLIC CAMPUS MINSITRY AT MONTCLAIR STATE UNIVERSITY has been here for students for over 40 years. And we are here to help you develop your identity as Catholic-Christians, to share and speak about your faith to their peers. We do this in a variety of ways...

First, and most essential to us as Catholic Christians, is the celebration of our Sacraments: MASS is offered every Sunday evening at 8:30 PM in the Student Center Cafeteria B & C. We also celebrate Mass Monday thru Thursday in the Newman Center. CONFESSIONS are heard on Sunday’s the hour before Mass; as well a scheduled time during the week at the Newman Center and any reasonable time upon request. THE RITE OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION FOR ADULTS (RCIA) for those who are interested in becoming Roman Catholic or for Catholics who have not received Eucharist and/or Confirmation is offered on campus. In addition, the Rosary is prayed daily 30 minutes prior to daily Mass, and Eucharistic Adoration takes place throughout the year.

We offer opportunities for Social Outreach: Last year, we sponsored our second bone marrow donor drive, and we co-sponsored canned food drives, Relay for Life, Toys for Tots, Action Against Hunger, ADM Autism Services, and the New Jersey Food Bank.

We offer faith-growing activities: Bible studies, Book Club, Lock-Ins, Retreats, Faith Sharing, Men's and Women's Leadership Days, and “Dogmatic Dinners” (where a current controversial topic or faith question is discussed in a casual atmosphere).

We also have a lot of social activities: Barbeques at the Newman Center, Game Nights, Movie Nights, Christmas Party, Super Bowl Party, Thanksgiving Dinner, Easter Egg Hunt, "Thusdays with Father Jim", and Field Trips...
