Collectively they have over 105 years of clinical and didactic experience as clinicians, educators, and researchers. These educators are committed to excellence in athletic training and have compiled an extraordinary program of study to prepare extremely competent entry-level allied health professionals. |

Dr. Borkowski, an internist with a sports medicine speciality, has been associated with MSU since 1991. He is the Director of Non-Operative Orthopaedics for HealthNet in Riverdale, NJ. Dr. Borkowski also supervises the medical aspects of the athletic training education program in accordance with the accrediting body (CAATE). |

Dr. Middlemas joined the faculty at MSU in 2000 as associate professor and Director of the Athletic Training Education Program. He came to MSU from William Paterson University where he was Program Director. Dr. Middlemas’ experience as an athletic training educator includes teaching in both internship and accredited athletic training education programs. His professional experience includes directing the athletic training outreach program for a sports medicine clinic, head collegiate athletic trainer, high school athletic trainer and clinical athletic training. Dr. Middlemas has published in the athletic training literature and given professional presentations in the field. He is a Test Site Administrator and Examiner for the NATABOC, facilitator for NATABOC Examiner Development, an NATA certified Clinical Instructor Educator and has been involved in athletic medical care for NCAA Division 3 championships in two sports, and national masters’ championships for the Athletics Congress. | Dissertation Title: Biomechanical Assessment of a Prophylactic Wrist Orthosis During Mechanical Loading in a Cadaveric Model |
| Dr. Grant-Ford has had clinical experiences at the secondary school, sport/gymnastic camps, physician practice, professional sports, and all three NCAA Division levels. She has educational degrees from three (CAAHEP now CAATE) accredited programs and has taught in five others (including MSU). She was the program director at Rowan University until 2001. Her professional service includes the NATA Educational Task Force, the NATA Ethnic Diversity Advisory Council, and EATA District 2 Election Chairperson; in the fall of 2006 she began a term as a member of the NATA Professional Education Committee. Grant-Ford frequently served as a BOC examiner until April of 2007 when the national exam transitioned to a computer based assessment. Dr. Grant-Ford has traveled extensively, nationally and internationally, as an athletic trainer for the United States Olympic Committee and USA Basketball. She was assigned to basketball and gymnastics at the 1996 Olympics and recently served as a staff athletic trainer for the 2001 and 2006 USA Men's and Women's Gymnastics Championships. | Mr. John Davis has been the helm of athletic training services at Montclair State University since 1984. In addition to a very full schedule preventing and managing athletic injury and illness for 24 intercollegiate teams as Head Athletic Trainer, Davis has demonstrated a very strong commitment to the profession. He has served as NATA District II secretary, EATA secretary/treasurer, northern representative to the Athletic Trainers' Society of New Jersey, and is a past president of the state organization. He was selected as an athletic trainer to the 1988 International Para Olympic Games. In 2005,he was the first recipient of the Eastern College Athletic Conference's Dr. Donald Grover Memorial Award which is bestowed to an athletic trainer of an ECAC member institution who has achieved outstanding success in his career and made a significant contribution to intercollegiate athletics. Mr. Davis has been inducted into the Athletic Trainers' Society of New Jersey Hall of Fame. |

| Ms. Dormann has been the assistant athletic trainer at MSU since 1993. Ms. Dormann graduated magna cum laude from MSU in 1992 where she was a two sport athlete. She has since been a clinician in the clinical and secondary school settings as well as with the New Jersey Imperials, a regional soccer league. |

| Joseph M. Savoia, MS, ATC Assistant Athletic Trainer |

B.A. Kean University Health and Physical Education with a concentration in Athletic Training

Mr. Savoia joined MSU as an assistant athletic trainer in the summer of 2005. Previously, he was a graduate
assistant athletic trainer at Kean University where he received a Masters of Science in Exercise Physiology. Mr. Savoia did extensive
graduate research in isokinetics, with a research interest in the relationship between muscle strength and knee pathologies. He has worked in many different settings in the athletic training profession including an undergraduate assignment with the New York Giants Professional Football Club during the 2002-2003 season. Mr. Savoia was also the 2003 recipient of the Richard
Malacrea Scholarship Award.
