PROBATION
Montclair State considers students with a cumulative GPA that has fallen below 2.0 to be on probation. Students in this category must raise their cumulative GPA to 2.0 or higher in one term. Because probation status is very serious, Montclair State University
- Places two registration holds on the accounts of students with probation status. One hold will be cleared when you attend an Academic Success Workshop, the other will be cleared when you meet with your academic advisor.
- Requires them to attend a mandatory Academic Success Workshop.
- Requires them to enroll in the Student Academic Success Program
- Requires students to meet regularly with an advisor while on probation status
Students who don't raise their cumulative GPA to 2.0 or higher in one term acquire academic suspension status.
