ACADEMIC WARNING

To stay in Good Academic Standing, you must keep your cumulative GPA above 2.00. If your cumulative GPA falls below 2.0, you will be placed on Academic Probation.

To reinforce the extremely serious nature of Probation, if your term (semester) GPA is below 2.00 while your cumulative GPA is between 2.0 and 2.25, your record will be updated to Academic Warning status. Academic Warning means you are very close to reaching Academic Probation status.

We urge students who reach Academic Warning status to avoid the next step to Probation.

Raise your cumulative GPA - as soon as possible and without delay! One way to do this is to repeat courses with grades of F or D and earn grades of C or, preferably, higher in the repeated courses. Furthermore, we encourage Academic Warning students to use the Montclair State resources that promote academic success.
