"One of the challenges of photographing the same patch of ground on a daily basis is trying to capture that scene through a new lens. The construction of a building every so often helps freshen things up by giving me new shapes and spaces with which to work.
The constant changes of a season’s light and weather also present me with opportunities to see things differently. Imagine the delight of a new building in interesting weather conditions. Fog lends an air of mystery to any setting, as does an unfamiliar setting.
It occurred to me as I was speaking to Dr. Rob Gilbert of Exercise Science and Physical Education that to him, moving into his new office in University Hall was the beginning of a new chapter in his life. However, the only mystery to Gilbert was how much happier he was going to be by moving into a new building that would foster a rich and diverse community.
This is the perfect perspective to life’s changes."
