Rose Kroll, an assistant supervisor in the Office of Information Technology, retired in April after 29 years of service at Montclair State. Kroll said she really enjoyed working at the University and will especially miss her co-workers. She is looking forward to spending time visiting with her family and traveling to Florida. 

Associate Director of Computer Services, Ed Buscavage, is honored to have worked with Kroll for 27 years. "She was one of the most dedicated University employees and played a major role in the development of Information Technology," said Buscavage. "I miss working with her but wish her good luck in her retirement."




The College of Education and Human Services and the College of Science and Mathematics, in partnership with Roche, recently presented the "STEM" Teaching Excellence Awards, which recognizes quality educators in Grades 5 through 8 within the fields of science, technology/engineering and mathematics.

Fifteen teachers were honored throughout the state, including nine educators from schools included in the Montclair State Network for Educational Renewal.

On May 31, winners attend an open poster session and awards dinner at Montclair State. Each teacher will also receive a $1000 prize to be used for the purchase of classroom materials and towards professional development opportunities. 




The Coccia Institute held a ceremony on April 4 in Dickson Hall to honor Italian majors proficient in the language. The Institute works with other regional and national organizations to promote an understanding of the important links between the people and cultures of Italy and America. During the academic year, the Institute also awarded more than $3,000 in scholarships.

 





The Department of Justice Studies held an awards ceremony on April 11 in University Hall. Nicolas Moore, who graduated with a bachelor of arts, received the David J. Dodd Award in honor of the former chair of Justice Studies who recently passed away. The ceremony also presented the Lambda Epsilon Phi Paralegal Honor Society Awards to those students who earned the highest GPAs.
