WILLIAMS NAMED NJAC ROOKIE OF THE WEEK FOR SECOND STRAIGHT WEEK; FIFTH TIME OVERALL

Montclair, NJ (3/3/08) – Freshman guard James Williams (Englewood, NJ / Dwight Morrow) was named the NJAC Rookie of the Week on Monday. It is the second straight week and fifth time overall this season that the conference's Rookie of the Year has claimed the honor.

Williams averaged 19.0 points and 4.5 rebounds per game in a pair of NJAC Tournament contests for Montclair State. He first tallied 17 points, four rebounds, and three assists in an 83-72 first round road win at Rowan. He wrapped up his freshman season by notching 21 points and five rebounds in a 71-61 semifinal road loss at William Paterson.

Williams currently ranks fifth in the NJAC in free throw percentage (.782).
