WILLIAMS NAMED NJAC ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Montclair, NJ (12/10/07) – Freshman guard James Williams (Englewood, NJ / Dwight Morrow) was named the NJAC Rookie of the Week on Monday. He is the first MSU player to be honored by the conference this season.

Williams earns NJAC Rookie of the Week honors after sparking the Red Hawks off the bench in their first NJAC game of the season. In the first league game of his career, he posted a team-high 18 points while adding three rebounds in MSU’s 76-68 NJAC road loss at Richard Stockton. In the Red Hawks’ only contest of the week, he shot 6-of-14 from the field and 4-of-9 from three-point range.

Williams currently ranks 17th in the NJAC in scoring with an average of 11.0 points per game.
