LOUTCHOUK SETS TWO RECORDS AS MSU SWIMMERS PLACE FOURTH AT GOLDEN BEAR INVITATIONAL

Kutztown, PA (11/17/07) – Freshman Galina Loutchouk (Richboro, PA / Council Rock) set a pair of new school records in the 400 individual medley and the 1650 freestyle as the Montclair State men's and women's swimming and diving teams each placed fourth at the Golden Bear Invitational held at Kutztown University on Saturday.

Loutchouk provided the highlight for MSU as she finished second in the 400 individual medley as she broke the school record in the morning's preliminaries with a time of 4:55.83. That broke Regina Potocnie's 2001 mark of 4:58.41. Louthcouk would then reset the mark in the evening finals as she posted a time of 4:55.12.

Loutchouk's second record of the day came in the 1650 freestyle as she took third in that event with a time of 18:44.40. The mark shattered the previous standard by more than 20 seconds as she bested Danielle Florio's 2001 record of 19:05.52.
