Day Nurseries Inc.

Established in 1906, Day Nurseries, Inc. is an accredited , licensed, nonprofit child care center. Programs and activities are guided by the belief that play provides the foundation for academic learning. Curriculum is designed to help children become enthusiastic learners while encouraging them to become active and creative explorers. Program offerings include the Family Day Care Program for children 2 1/2-6 years of age, a Summer Program for children 6-12 years of age, and an Adult Computer Program (a collaboration with TEAM, see below).

Homes of Montclair Ecumenical Corporation (HOMECorp)

HOMECorp.'s mission is to provide safe, permanently affordable housing in Montclair and to promote neighborhood development. It seeks to strengthen the community foundation by assisting families who are largely disenfranchised from the robust housing market in Montclair.

Montclair Child Development Corporation (MCDC)
33 Fulton Street, Montclair, NJ
MCDC is a nonprofit agency dedicated to the process of advocating and providing for the needs of children and their families from low socioeconomic backgrounds. Programs are open to residents of Montclair, Orange, West Orange and Bloomfield. MCDC aims to provide successful encounters that will embrace the child, empower the family, and strengthen the community. Among the programs offered are Head Start, Work First and Even Start. Their Head Start program has two locations in Montclair and one in Orange, serving more than 500 children.

Montclair Neighborhood Development Corporation (MNDC)

Montclair Neighborhood Development Corporation (MNDC) is a nonprofit community based social service agency, founded in 1969 and incorporated in 1970. Basic programs offered are Adult Education, Crisis Intervention, Supportive Services, and Youth Development.

Montclair Public Schools
For nearly thirty years, Montclair has offered parents a choice of school best suited to their child's individual talents and needs through a magnet school concept. The Board of Education has developed specialized programs in each of the schools. Some, for instance, emphasize arts and science; others feature technology or, broadly, social studies. Yet all Montclair schools follow the same basic curriculum, a rigorous educational program that not only
meets, but exceeds, the New Jersey core content standards.

Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church

Our Lady of Mount Carmel, originally established to serve the Italian immigrant, now serves a racially, ethnically and economically diverse community; a community drawn from Montclair, Upper Montclair, Glen Ridge, Bloomfield, Verona, Caldwell, Cedar Grove, West Orange and Orange.

TEAM (Technology, Education, Access, Mentoring)

TEAM was established by the United Way of North Essex County to address the "Digital Divide" in Montclair. It provides opportunities for low to moderate-income children and their families to participate in a Computer Learning Center program where they become proficient in basic computer skills and receive a refurbished computer for at-home use with technical support from a community volunteer.

United Methodist Homes of New Jersey
The United Methodist Homes of New Jersey provides quality and caring services in a Christian environment. About 1,000 senior men and women receive Independent Living, Personal Care services, Assisted Living and Skilled Nursing Care in ten communities.
