The
Center for Community-Based Learning (CCBL) Center provides the institutional infrastructure to support academic community service and internship programs. CCBL is comprised of the Cooperative Education Program, the Servise Learning Program and administers the Community Outreach Partnership Center (COPC). Through these programs, CCBL offers students multiple ways to engage in experiential education. The College of Humanities and Social Sciences The The College of Humanities and Social Sciences (CHSS) is the largest of the University’s 5 schools and colleges, with 170 full-time faculty serving 13 departments, 9 interdisciplinary programs, and 4 centers and institutes. It seeks to be responsive to the larger community while remaining faithful to the liberal arts tradition. The College of Education and Human Services It houses the New Jersey Network for Educational Renewal (NJNER), one of the foremost university-school partnerships in the nation. NJNER is the vehicle for our partnership with 23 public school districts and over 750 professional educators. The NJNER is affiliated with the National Network for Educational Renewal. The College of Education and Human Services houses seven academic departments, the nationally known Psychoeducational Center, the Child Care Center, and numerous innovative programs and institutes. Affiliated with the College of Education and Human Services is the Center of Pedagogy (COP). The COP is the first entity of its type in the nation. It is an institutional framework that brings together faculty from education, the arts and sciences, and public schools. The COP is designed for educators who aspire to be models of teaching excellence, leaders among their colleagues, and spokespersons for educational reform. Its work is informed by the College’s long-standing relationship with the NJNER, and grounded in a set of beliefs that is refered to as the Agenda for Education in a Democracy. |
