RESIDENT EMERGENCY MEDICAL TECHNICIAN PROGRAM
Description: In order to meet the growing needs of the campus community, Montclair State University EMS in cooperation with the Office of Residence Life have initiated the Resident Emergency Medical Technician Program. This program is designed to increase the availability of emergency medical technicians (EMT’s) on campus to respond to emergency calls. In the program, resident EMT’s will provide on-call service. In exchange for their service, EMT’s will be provided a room on campus in one of the residence halls free of charge. Resident EMT’s also qualify for priority registration.
Resident EMT apartments will be located in the Village at Little Falls for the 2007-08 Academic Year.
What’s Required: A strong commitment to MSU EMS and to providing quality care to the campus community is required. If selected, the resident EMT will be responsible for being on campus and on-call a minimum of two nights (11PM to 8AM) per week, three day shifts per week, and two weekends per month. In addition, the resident EMT agrees to carry a pager and assist in handling emergency calls whenever possible. EMT’s will also be responsible for attending scheduled EMS meetings.
