Established
in 1991, the Global Education Center consolidates Montclair State
University's
international activities and programs. The Center fosters
internationalization
on many levels and has been successful in imbuing the university with
an
international presence. The Center administers study abroad, student
and
faculty exchanges, institutional linkages, international collaborations
and research, international summer institutes, international study
tours,
programs for visiting scholars, and
International
Studies.
It also provides a range of services to international students and scholars, including visa advisement and general counseling.
The Global Education also administers the International Guest House, which is located on campus, and can house visiting scholars.
As an incentive for faculty to internationalize, the Center administers a bi-annual grant competition for faculty, which has awarded over 300 grants to faculty for presentations at international conferences, teaching exchanges, hosting international scholars, and internationalizing the curriculum.
