During the Annual Dinner, four seniors received the President's
Carpe Diem Award. This was the inaugural presentation of the award, which
recognizes students who have demonstrated the commitment, passion and
determination to succeed by rising above difficult circumstances and/or
overcoming formidable challenges to "seize the day" in one or
more areas of academic life. Pictured with President Susan A. Cole are,
from left, Carmen Michael Piccolo III, a biology major; Carinne Stachelski,
who is majoring in political science and history; Orlando Cabrera, a biology
major; and Alisha Tillman, a health education major.

The evening's lecture was provided by ABC News
Anchor and Correspondent Robert Woodruff, who spoke on "Covering
War in a Time of Terrorism."

The Student Center Ballrooms were transformed into an elegant
venue where attendees celebrated 95 years of Montclair State's
student talent and accomplishments.

Members of Latinisimo were among the groups that performed
during the event. Other performers included the MSU Cheerleaders, Swing
Phi Swing Social Fellowship, Voice, the MSU Chorale and the cast of "Working."
